Kapelle Maria zum Schnee auf der Bettmeralp

An dieser Stelle habe ich länger gestanden, während die Nebelschwaden den Hang hinaufgetrieben und über die Kuppe getrieben wurden. Auch wenn der Nebel hier nicht offensichtlich bildbestimmend ist, wird dadurch der Hintergrund vollständig weiß wodurch die Landschaft mit der Kapelle freigestellt wirkt. Schnell war mir klar, dass ich dieses Bild in Schwarzweiß ausarbeiten wollte, was mir auch sehr gefällt, aber irgendwie hatte ich das Bedürfnis an der Farbigkeit der Wiese zu arbeiten und habe hierzu ein Rot, welches gleichzeitig fremd aber dennoch passend und frisch wirkt. Um das zu erreichen habe ich in Photoshop eine Schwarzweißversion mit der farbigen überlagert und anschliessend in dieser die Stellen, die monochrom sein sollten, wegradiert, so dass an diesen Stellen die Schwarzweißebene durchscheint.

Chapel Maria at the Snow on the Bettmeralp

I was standing for a longer time at this location while the wind was blowing the fog upwards over the hilltop. Even if the the fog is not obviously dertermining the picture it makes the background completely white so that it seems that the chapel and the landscape have been separated manually. I quickly realized that I would like to have this picture in black&white what is really looking great, but somehow I had the need to colour the meadow and decided for red which appears at the same time a bit strange and very pleasant and fresh to me. To reach this result I created two layers in Photoshop, the lower with the black&white version and above the coloured one and erased these areas that should look monochrome so that the lower b&w layer could shine through.
